From Copenhagen…
We’re doing some family traveling this summer and now are spending a few weeks in Copenhagen. We came across a nice group of designer-makers here. It’s a “working store” called Designer Zoo. With in the building there are 8 designer-makers producing ceramic, metal, textiles and glass, all the makers are also trained designers. There is also a furniture shop with in the building the concept was started by Karsten Lauritsen a local furniture designer. I’ve taken some picture of some of my favorite objects. The dual dipped cup with the raised vertical lines is coming home with me, notice in the background the beautiful gold ring is the metal working shop. I love seeing this literal transparency to the making while in the store.
